Ashley MacQuarrie joined us to discuss what schools should be doing if they’re behind on spring enrollment targets.
Here are this session’s top 3 tips:
- Don’t panic and throw money at advertising—understand the problem first. s it top-of-funnel (not enough people finding you)? Conversion (families visiting but not enrolling)? Follow-through (applying but not finishing paperwork)? And critically—are families re-enrolling?
- Spring open houses should focus on specifics, not sales pitches. Families at this point are making final decisions—they’ve narrowed options and need details. They want to know: Who will be my kid’s teacher? What does drop-off look like? Will my kid fit in?
- With limited bandwidth, prioritize: summer communication plan, personal re-engagement with warm leads, and family referral efforts. Start your summer communication sequence now for families who’ve enrolled.
Bonus: Summer is not a pause. Keep showing up on social with behind-the-scenes prep content, teacher spotlights, classroom setup, and new teacher introductions. That social proof matters. Use summer to plan your fall push before school starts and you’re overwhelmed.
