Cybersecurity Tips For The Summer

On this episode of Tuesday Tips, we were joined by expert Sangar Safi from Software MSP to discuss cybersecurity tips for the summer. Here are the session’s top three tips, and watch the full video below.

  1. Conduct a Thorough Risk Assessment and Update Systems. School leaders should focus on identifying vulnerabilities, updating systems, and strengthening network security. This includes ensuring firewalls are up-to-date, implementing network segmentation, and deploying new monitoring tools.
  2. Implement Multifactor Authentication (MFA). MFA is crucial for securing access to school systems. It is cost-effective, easy to implement, and serves as the first line of defense against unauthorized access. Ensuring compliance with local regulations when implementing MFA is essential.
  3. Allocate a Proper Cybersecurity Budget. Schools should allocate 10-15% of their overall IT budget to cybersecurity. Key areas for this budget include network security, endpoint protection, cybersecurity training, backup plans, incident response plans, and compliance measures.
