For this episode of Tuesday Tips, we heard from Maddy Marleton and Michael Soh on aligning your facility with your mission. Here are the top tips from the conversation, or watch the full video below!
- Prepare for market shifts. With recent rate cuts, there’s potential for more favorable conditions for schools looking to buy. However, due to the current pricing gap between buyers and sellers, schools should plan ahead and assess their needs so they can move quickly when opportunities arise.
- Prioritize team collaboration. Ensuring a successful construction project starts with a strong, collaborative team. Engage experienced architects, owners’ representatives, and contractors early in the process to tackle challenges together and prevent delays and cost overruns.
- Mitigate risks early. When acquiring or improving a property, be prepared for potential delays, cost overages, and operational shifts. Have a plan in place to handle unexpected challenges, such as temporary space for your school if there are delays or ensuring that your budget accounts for unforeseen expenses.
